The Gaskleen Pico1000 Trace Moisture detection system contains an inline analyzer with a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) to gravimetrically measure the moisture concentration in select process gases. Leading edge MEMS technology allows for ppt level detection. The portable design allows for use in many critical areas throughout a facility and easy troubleshooting process excursions. The system is ideally suited for qualifying and certifying ultrahigh purity process gases, as well as detecting purifier end-of-life.
Argon and nitrogen process gases travel through a mass flow controller, where a preconcentrator MEMS traps the moisture molecules using a proprietary coating. After the analyzing cycle is complete, the preconcentrator heats instantaneously to vaporize the compiled moisture. A resonator vibrating in the MHz frequency range works in conjunction with the preconcentrator. The vibrator utilizes a proprietary design and chemoselective coating to heighten desorption and absorption of the moisture from the preconcentrator. This allows the system to quickly capture and measure the mass of sample moisture with industry leading time to information.
During the measurement cycle, the resonator continuously vibrates as the preconcentrator vaporizes the moisture. During vaporization, the resonator undergoes a frequency shift (ΔHz) that is detected and converted into an electrical signal that directly correlates to the mass of the moisture.
